What Is?
The new symbol for the Turkish Lira, TL, ₺; was introduced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey on March 1, 2012. The design was created by Tülay Lale and won first place in a competition.
The symbol represents the stability and trust of the lira with an anchor shape, and its rising value is depicted by two upward lines. Since then, it has been used to represent the Turkish Lira both nationally and internationally.
How to Make TL Sign on Turkish Keyboard?
While holding down the ALT GR key located at the bottom right of the keyboard on the Turkish Q keyboard, pressing the letter T will type the ₺ symbol.
Usage Rules
CBRT recommends using the symbol immediately to the left of the number, without spacing. Example usage: ₺100
